Originality and Ethical Guidelines

Submissions must consist of original work and must not be previously published or under consideration elsewhere. Authors are responsible for ethical compliance, accurate citation, and avoiding plagiarism.

Plagiarism/Similarity Screening (Initial Check)

All manuscripts submitted to IJLBT are initially screened for originality using iThenticate and/or Crossref Similarity Check (a Crossref service powered by iThenticate). This generates a similarity report that highlights matched text and indicates overlap with existing publications and relevant web sources. Editors review the report carefully—a similarity score alone does not determine plagiarism—and submissions with significant unattributed overlap, duplication, or suspected redundant publication may be returned for correction or declined in line with publication ethics.

Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo a rigorous peer-review process, either conducted by the Editor-in-Chief or through a double-blind review by at least two independent international experts. Decisions may include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection. Our average first-decision timeline is typically 4–8 weeks, and in some cases may extend to up to 16 weeks depending on reviewer availability and revision cycles. From initial submission to publication, the average turnaround time is approximately 16 weeks, subject to the timeliness of author revisions and final production processing.

Mentorship-Driven Feedback (Koozakar Publishing Model)

Koozakar is transforming scholarly publishing through a mentorship-driven approach that prioritizes learning and improvement. Authors can expect high-quality, constructive feedback designed to strengthen legal reasoning, structure, argument clarity, and scholarly contribution—even when a manuscript is not accepted. Where feasible, rejected manuscripts may still receive improvement-focused guidance to support revision and successful resubmission elsewhere.

Submission Categories

IJLBT welcomes research articles, review articles, doctrinal and comparative analyses, case notes, policy papers, and short communications focused on (but not limited to) international business law, cross-border transactions, commercial and corporate law, compliance and regulation, financial and digital transactions, data/privacy, human rights and corporate accountability, dispute resolution, and emerging legal-tech issues.

Submission Process

Submissions should be made through Koozakar’s online submission portal (linked below).

Include a cover letter outlining the significance of the manuscript and its contribution to law/business transactions scholarship.

Average time between submission & publication: up to 16 weeks (subject to revision timelines and workflow).

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright and grant IJLBT the right to publish and distribute accepted manuscripts under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Article Processing Charges (APC)

The APC for all accepted papers is USD 250. The APC supports our open-access publishing model and covers editorial processing, peer-review management, plagiarism/similarity checks, copyediting, typesetting/formatting, metadata handling, online hosting/archiving, and long-term platform maintenance. The APC is payable only after acceptance and at the final processing/production stage. There is no submission fee. Authors based in the Global South are encouraged to request discounted APC rates, considered on a case-by-case basis.

Waivers

Waivers may be considered for early-career researchers and graduate students conducting self-funded research, especially from developing countries. Authors with documented constraints may apply through the editorial office.
