Aims and Scope

Biodiversity, Environment & Public Health (BEPH) is an interdisciplinary journal dedicated to advancing knowledge on the relationships among biodiversity, environmental systems, ecosystem integrity, and human health. The journal provides a platform for research that explores how environmental change, ecological processes, and the management of natural resources influence public health, wellbeing, and sustainable development.

BEPH welcomes original research articles, reviews, policy analyses, perspectives, case studies, and interdisciplinary studies in areas including:

  • Biodiversity conservation, loss, restoration, and ecosystem resilience
  • Ecosystem health, ecosystem services, and human wellbeing
  • Environmental pollution and its implications for public health
  • Climate change, environmental hazards, and health vulnerability
  • One Health, EcoHealth, and Planetary Health approaches
  • Environmental epidemiology and environmental determinants of health
  • Disease ecology, zoonotic diseases, vectors, and wildlife–human interactions
  • Water, sanitation, waste management, and environmental health
  • Air, soil, and water quality and associated health risks
  • Toxicology, ecotoxicology, and exposure to environmental contaminants
  • Sustainable agriculture, food systems, food safety, and nutrition
  • Natural-resource management and sustainable utilization
  • Urbanization, built environments, green spaces, and public health
  • Conservation medicine and wildlife health
  • Environmental microbiology and antimicrobial resistance
  • Climate adaptation, resilience, and disaster-related health
  • Environmental justice, equity, community health, and vulnerable populations
  • Environmental policy, governance, regulation, and sustainability transitions
  • Circular economy, waste valorization, and resource efficiency
  • Environmental monitoring, risk assessment, GIS, remote sensing, and emerging technologies
  • Nature-based solutions and interventions that support both ecological and human health
  • Education, behavioural change, and community engagement in biodiversity, environment, and health

BEPH particularly encourages studies that bridge traditionally separate disciplines and generate evidence useful for researchers, practitioners, communities, and policymakers seeking to protect biodiversity, improve environmental quality, and promote healthier and more resilient societies.
