Biography & Expertise

Prof. Dr. Manal H.G. Kanaan holds a BSA and an M.Sc. in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Baghdad, Iraq, and earned her Ph.D. in Public Health, with specialisation in Meat Microbiology and Meat Safety, from the same institution. She is currently a Lecturer in Microbiology and Anatomy at the Technical Institute of Suwaira, Middle Technical University, Iraq.

Prof. Dr. Kanaan has published numerous research articles in national and international journals covering public health, meat microbiology, meat safety, food microbiology, veterinary science, and antimicrobial resistance. Her research interests focus on veterinary public health, food safety, meat microbiology, and antimicrobial-resistant foodborne pathogens, with particular emphasis on molecular resistance mechanisms, resistance genes, their role in the emergence of resistant pathogens, and interventions for improving food safety.
