Abstract
Seaports are critical revenue-generating infrastructure that contribute to environmental pollution through their operations. The economic benefits of seaports make it impossible to halt port operations to eliminate their negative environmental impact on society. This study examined the environmental sustainability practices in the Lagos Port complex, Apapa, Nigeria. The sustainability practices assessed for adoption in the study were extracted from the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO 14001) environmental management framework. Data for the study were collected using a well-designed questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale. The survey was conducted using a combination of stratified and random sampling among stakeholders at the Lagos Port Complex (LPC) in Apapa.
