Submission Guide for Authors
How to Submit a Manuscript to GJESS
Manuscripts can be submitted to the Global Journal of Environmental Science & Sustainability (GJESS) by one of the authors in .doc or .docx format via email to the Editorial Office at editor_gjess@koozakar.com.
At GJESS, we aim to simplify the manuscript submission process. Follow the step-by-step instructions below for a seamless submission experience.
Step One: Getting to Know GJESS
GJESS is a dynamic, multidisciplinary journal. It is essential to review the Aims and Scope to ensure your manuscript aligns with the journal’s objectives. GJESS accepts:
- Research articles
- Review papers
- Case studies
- Short communications
Submissions should focus on topics such as environmental science, sustainability practices, climate change, and conservation, provided they are original and not under consideration elsewhere.
GJESS publishes 2-3 issues per year.

Step Two: Preparing the Manuscript
Clear, concise language and adherence to APA 6th edition citation style are mandatory. Authors must also follow the detailed guidelines below
Manuscript Structure
Your manuscript must include the following elements in the given order:- Title
- Full Name and Affiliation of Author(s)
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Introduction
- Materials and Methods (design/methodology/approach)
- Results and Discussions (separate or combined, as appropriate)
- Conclusions
- Acknowledgments
- Conflicts of Interest and Author Contributions (if applicable)
- References
Manuscript Elements
Title: Informative, succinct, and accurately represents the research.Authors: Provide full names, institutional affiliations, and valid email addresses for all authors.Abstract: The abstract should be a concise summary (≤300 words) that highlights the purpose, significance, and originality of the work.Introduction: Define the unsolved scientific problem, describe the study's purpose, and make it accessible to readers outside the specific field.Materials and Methods: Provide sufficient detail to enable replication of the study.Results: Present only findings from the current study, interpret them in context, and discuss their implications for future research or applications.Conclusions: Address the study’s purpose directly and succinctly.Acknowledgments: Optionally, acknowledge funding sources and significant contributors.Conflicts of Interest: Disclose conflicts or explicitly state if none exist.Author Contributions: Use the CRediT Taxonomy.References: Follow APA 6th edition style, citing sources no older than 10 years. Plagiarism: All manuscripts are screened using iThenticate. Submissions with an overall similarity index exceeding 15% or individual source similarity over 3% will be rejected.Data Availability Statements: Authors must provide a statement regarding the availability of the data used in their research, promoting reproducibility and advancing science.Ethical Statements: For studies involving humans or animals, authors must obtain ethics committee approval and adhere to relevant guidelines (e.g., Declaration of Helsinki). Include a confirming statement in the methods section.Contributions: Every listed author must have made a significant contribution to the research. The corresponding author is required to sign an AUTHOR'S CONTRIBUTIONS form.Funding Statements: Declare and acknowledge all public funding sources supporting the research.Acknowledgments: Acknowledge individuals or organizations that provided significant support for your research.Conflict of Interest Statements: Disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the work. If none exist, state: “The authors hereby declare that there is no known conflict of interest.”Consent: All authors must familiarize themselves with the journal’s policies. Manuscripts must be reviewed by all contributing authors, and the corresponding author must sign an AUTHOR'S STATEMENTS form.
Open Access and Fees
GJESS is an open-access journal with no subscription fees, ensuring broad readership. Currently, there are no Article Processing Charges. Starting October 1, 2025, a fee of $250 per article may be applicable, with waivers or discounts available for authors from qualifying countries (based on WHO classifications).
Privacy Statement
The names and email addresses provided during submission will be used exclusively for journal-related purposes and will not be shared with third parties.
Copyright and Licensing
Authors retain copyright of their work and grant GJESS the right to publish it under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
After Submission
Submissions are acknowledged within one week. All manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process, with feedback typically provided within 16 weeks.
Rejected manuscripts may be revised and resubmitted upon appeal and necessary improvements for consideration in future issues.
