Following this, he proceeded to the Nigeria Law School for a one-year advanced professional legal studies, where he continued his streak of excellence by graduating magna cum laude, earning four distinctions out of five courses. His pursuit of legal education culminated in a Master of Laws Degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. During his graduate program, Kolawole served as the general secretary of the Energy & Environmental Law Society, further showcasing his leadership and commitment to environmental issues.

Kolawole’s legal background significantly enhances his capacity to address complex environmental challenges. As a licensed attorney in Nigeria, he provided legal representation on environmental claims and offered advisory and consultation services on environmental policy compliance. His legal skills and knowledge serve as critical tools for evaluating, analyzing, and initiating strategic policies on diverse issues of environmental sustainability. Among other professional certifications, he has a certification on patent and global public health by Havard Law School & World Intellectual Property Organization.

Over half of a decade, Kolawole has initiated and collaborated with other research scholars on groundbreaking research projects across the diverse subjects of environmental sustainability. He has contributed significantly to many research projects that have advanced the goals of environmental sustainability. Kolawole's research portfolio is diverse and impactful. As an environmental sustainability researcher and analyst, the subject areas of his research portfolio include climate change, pollution, green technology, green computing, environmental compliance and monitoring.

He has played a significant role in projects such as transitioning to a climate-resilient society through green computing, developing strategies for achieving reduced pollution, examining the nexus between climate change, food insecurity, and conflicts, multi-cultural perspectives for environmental conservation, and formulating strategies for reducing pesticide residues in food. Each of these projects showcase his exceptional skills in translating scientific research into policy initiatives that promote sustainability and environmental protection.

One of the most notable projects Kolawole has been involved in is a comprehensive multidisciplinary study titled "Exploring the Interplay of Environmental Conservation within Spirituality and Multicultural Perspective: Insights from a Cross-Sectional Study." Published in an international scientific journal on environment development and sustainability, this research is a testament to Kolawole's ability to interrogate social institutions, analyze multicultural influences on environmental conservation, and propose initiatives to foster environmental behaviors.
