Portrait of Adeyemi Akinola, PhD. Adeyemi Adewale Akinola (PhD, CLN), a passionate scholar and Lecturer, Infopreneur, Knowledge Manager and Librarian dedicated to the advancement of information resources management and library science in Nigeria. I pursued my Bachelor of Library and Information Science degree at Tai Solarin University of Education, Nigeria. This period not only honed my academic skills but also sparked my interest in the role of libraries as hubs of knowledge and community engagement.

Driven by a desire to deepen my understanding of library science, I enrolled in Babcock University, Nigeria, where I earned a Master of Information Resources Management (Library and Information Science Specialization). This laid the groundwork for my doctoral studies. I immersed myself in research and academic inquiry as I pursued my PhD in Information Resources Management (Library and Information Science Specialization) at Babcock University. My doctoral thesis explored the complex interplay of job characteristics, work engagement, organizational citizenship behaviour, and job burnout among librarians in university libraries across Southern Nigeria.

In 2021, I attended a Course Certificate on New Models Business in Society at the University of Virginia, Darden School of Business. As well as Diploma courses in Harmonization, Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Africa Higher Education, MOOC series on African Regional and Continental Integration and Cooperation in Higher Education organized by Association of African University and OBREAL Global. (2022 – 2023). I am a certified Librarian of the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN).

Since 2018, I have been serving as a Lecturer and Readers’ Services Librarian at Mountain Top University along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State. In this role, I have not only taught courses on research methodology, bibliographic citation, and information technologies but also supervised the university's e-library and coordinated various library committees. Currently, I direct operations at Koozakar, overseeing a wide range of functions from research and training to our publishing mandate. My leadership at Koozakar involves ensuring that our research initiatives are cutting-edge, our training programs are comprehensive, and our publishing efforts contribute significantly to the field of library and information science.

Beyond my academic and teaching responsibilities, I have actively contributed to the field of library science through research projects, publications, and presentations at national and international conferences. My research interests encompass topics such as the impact of socio-economic factors on information access, organizational citizenship behaviour among library professionals, and the integration of digital technologies in library services. I have authored and co-authored numerous research papers published in reputable journals, addressing critical issues in library management, information retrieval systems, and the evolving role of libraries in a knowledge-based economy.

Outside academia, I am involved in consultancy work and have served as a Library Consultant to Knowledge Exchange Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos. I am also a member of Accurate Solution Consultant Company, contributing to projects focused on enhancing information access and management practices. I am passionate about continuous learning and professional development, actively participating in workshops and seminars that broaden my perspective and deepen my expertise in library and information sciences. My journey from a curious student to a dedicated educator and researcher has been marked by a commitment to excellence, innovation, and the transformative power of information. As I continue to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of library science, I remain steadfast in my dedication to advancing knowledge, empowering communities through access to information, and shaping the future of library and information management in Nigeria.
