About Benjamin Mwadi PhD (Associate Editor)
Prof. Benjamin Mwadi Makengo is an
Associate Professor of International Politics at the University of Kinshasa,
with a Ph.D. from the School of Politics and International Studies at Central
China Normal University. He also holds a Master's degree in International
Relations from China Foreign Affairs University and a Bachelor's degree in
Political and Administrative Sciences from the University of Kinshasa. His
academic trajectory is complemented by advanced international training at
institutions such as Tsinghua University and the Harvard Kennedy School. He
currently trains senior military officials in Military Diplomacy and
contributes to academic development at the Kinshasa War College and the Académie
Diplomatique Congolaise.
Prof. Mwadi’s research intersects
ecopolitics, peace studies, and sustainability-focused education. His scholarly
work critically engages with environmental governance, exploring policy
frameworks for sustainable resource management, climate change mitigation, and
biodiversity conservation. He is equally committed to examining peacebuilding
mechanisms and conflict resolution strategies, with a focus on non-violent
approaches, human rights advocacy, and the promotion of inclusive governance.
His work is situated within broader discourses on social justice, interrogating
the structural dimensions of inequality and marginalization in relation to
environmental and political stability.
Another dimension of his scholarship
involves sustainable education and community engagement. He investigates
pedagogical innovations and curriculum models that foster environmental
literacy, global citizenship, and transformative learning. His commitment to
grassroots advocacy is reflected in his work on community-based initiatives and
participatory governance, emphasizing the role of local actors in driving
ecological sustainability and peace. As Director of the Social Sciences Peer
Review Laboratory and a consultant to international think tanks, Prof. Mwadi
continues to shape critical debates on sustainable development, security, and
diplomacy in Africa and the Global South.
