Dr. Akinola’s academic journey began at Tai Solarin University of Education, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science. His thirst for deeper expertise led him to Babcock University, where he completed both a Master’s and a PhD (2018) in Information Resources Management, specializing in Library and Information Science. His doctoral research on Job Characteristics, Work Engagement, Organizational Citizenship Behaviour and Job Burnout among Librarians in University Libraries in Southern Nigeria underscored his early interest in the human and organizational dimensions of library work.

Further certifications such as a Diploma in Higher Education Quality Assurance (Association of African Universities, 2023) and a course in Business Models from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business (2021) highlight his interdisciplinary approach. As a Certified Librarian (LRCN, 2020), he bridges theory and practice, ensuring his work remains grounded in professional standards.

His leadership extends to publishing as the Director of Operations at Koozakar Publishing, where he steers the Scientific Journal for Technology Management, Information & AI (SJTIA). Here, he champions ethical publishing and the dissemination of cutting-edge research. Notably, his 2024 book chapter on Fake News and Information Disorder (De Gruyter) tackles the urgent issue of misinformation, advocating for digital literacy as a tool for social stability.

In 2025, he secured the DKOMFA-MTU grant to advance SDG 4 (Quality Education) by empowering pupils in Ogun State’s community schools a testament to his belief in education as a lever for development. His collaborations, such as a 2024 study on fossil fuel subsidy removal’s economic impact, reveal a scholar engaged with Nigeria’s socio-economic realities.

Dr. Akinola’s influence extends beyond publications. He has facilitated and participated in workshops across Africa, including the Koha Integrated Library System training in Namibia (2019) and sessions on indigenous knowledge sustainability in Kenya (2021–2023).
